Project HIRE Can Give Boost to Job Seeker Through OJTs

Project HIRE can help a dislocated worker land a great job because it can defray the cost of his or her on-the-job-training (OJT).

OJTs provide a way for job seekers in need of training to gain that training at reduced expense to the employer as well as helping the job seeker gain a skill in an in-demand occupation. OJTs also help an individual build on existing skills, training and work experience.

WorkKeys Tells an Potential Employer You Are Ready

Dislocated workers may want to take advantage of WorkKeys® testing to aid them in securing meaningful employment. Successfully completing WorkKeys® testing, a individual receives a Career Readiness Credential that is a nationally recognized measure of job-related skills that many employers are using in their hiring process. The skills measured by the WorkKeys® test are those that most have already developed and learned in previous employment experiences.

WorkKeys® certificate verifies for a potential employer an individual's abilities in Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics and Locating Information.  These skills are needed at some level in almost every job, occupation, or career in today’s economy

Developed by ACT, an international leader in educational assessment, the WorkKeys® System is being used by employers nationwide to improve their workforce.

It also verifies skill levels necessary to enter some job training programs.
